Description

Deutsche Bank is offering a 12-month Apprentice – Non-Technology program under India’s National Apprenticeship Training Scheme, designed to provide structured on-the-job training across multiple business functions. The role spans diverse domains including Business Management & Control, Business Finance, Financial Reporting, Risk & Governance, and Regulatory Reporting, enabling candidates to gain exposure to real-world banking operations and financial processes. Apprentices work on analytical support, reporting, stakeholder coordination, financial control, and process improvement initiatives while contributing to critical functions such as profit and loss reporting, regulatory submissions, disclosures, and risk monitoring. The program emphasizes continuous learning, professional development, and hands-on experience through training, coaching, and collaboration with global teams. It also provides exposure to financial systems, automation initiatives, and governance frameworks within a large banking environment. However, the apprenticeship is for a fixed duration of 12 months and does not guarantee permanent employment upon completion.

Responsibilities

  • Learn, develop, and assist in overall company operations as part of the apprenticeship program
  • Provide analytical and strategic support to COO’s and Business Management teams for planning and implementing business strategies
  • Support presentations, projects, vendor reviews, cost allocation programs, business analysis, and process improvement initiatives
  • Handle operational activities including vendor management, invoice management, market data services, organizational chart management, and business continuity procedures
  • Manage onboarding, internal movement, and offboarding processes for employees along with system and access setup
  • Assist in non-financial risk management including risk assessments, control monitoring, audit tracking, event logging, reporting, and governance presentations
  • Support automation, migration, and streamlining of business processes using technology initiatives
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, ensure proper documentation, and escalate control or reporting issues when required
  • Assist in regulatory reporting, financial disclosures, balance sheet analysis, and submission of reports such as COREP/FINREP and other regulatory requirements
  • Prepare internal and external reports including risk metrics, analyst packs, management reports, and movement analysis for finance teams
  • Contribute to business finance activities including profit & loss reporting, reconciliations, forecasting, planning, and financial performance analysis
  • Perform month-end activities such as journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation, and financial disclosures
  • Support audit processes, quality assurance checks, exception handling, and resolution of financial discrepancies
  • Prepare IFRS disclosures, financial statements, and coordinate with auditors, regulators, and senior stakeholders for reporting requirements
  • Produce liquidity and regulatory reports (LCR, NSFR), perform variance analysis, and ensure accuracy and timely delivery
  • Perform MIS reporting, cost analysis, forecasting, and financial planning activities to support decision-making and cost optimization
  • Collaborate with global teams, stakeholders, and business partners to improve processes, reporting, and operational efficiency

Requirements

  • Eligibility & Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA / B.Com / BSc / B.Tech / M.tech ) from a recognized institution
  • Fresh graduates are eligible for the apprenticeship program Technical & Functional Skills:
  • Basic understanding of financial services, banking concepts, product control, or FP&A functions
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, regulatory frameworks, IFRS/GAAP concepts (preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Strong data analysis skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform variance analysis and reporting
  • Ability to support automation, process improvement, and system-related initiatives Other Skills:
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with fluency in English
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and adapt to new concepts
