Description

Lokal is hiring for the role of Product Intern, offering an opportunity to work on building user-centric digital products for Tier-2 and Tier-3 India through its ecosystem of focused apps across categories like jobs, education, social, and advisory services. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to contribute to the full product lifecycle, including defining requirements, analyzing user behavior, supporting feature launches, and deriving insights post-release. Interns will gain hands-on experience in product development, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making while working in a fast-paced startup environment that leverages local-language internet, deep market insights, and AI to improve accessibility and digital adoption across Bharat.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with product, engineering, and design teams to build and improve user-centric features
• Support end-to-end product lifecycle including requirement definition, feature development, and post-release analysis
• Analyze user behavior and data to inform product decisions
• Assist in feature launches and track experiments
• Write product documentation including user stories and PRDs
• Monitor product metrics, funnels, retention, and conversion performance
• Contribute to A/B testing, metrics tracking, and dashboard analysis

Requirements

• Eligibility & Education:
• Open to candidates with relevant academic background (not explicitly specified) Technical & Functional Skills:
• Basic understanding of product analytics (funnels, retention, conversion)
• Ability to write user stories and product requirement documents (PRDs)
• Understanding of APIs, events, and basic backend/frontend concepts
• Comfort working with data using SQL, Excel, or Google Sheets (preferred)
• Exposure to A/B testing, metrics tracking, and dashboards (bonus) Other Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and structured thinking
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems into clear requirements
• High ownership mindset with hands-on approach
• Interest in consumer internet, local content, or Indian language products
