Valeo is hiring for the role of Graduate Engineer Trainee in Chennai within its R&D Mechanical (GTSC Mechanical) department, offering a full-time opportunity in a global high-technology automotive company focused on reinventing mobility. The role involves contributing to design, validation, and engineering activities that support the development of innovative, safer, and environmentally sustainable mobility solutions. As part of Valeo’s large R&D ecosystem, trainees will work in a multicultural and collaborative environment, gaining exposure to platform design, simulations, testing, and engineering processes while supporting innovation and efficiency initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Perform activities in compliance with benchmark activity plans
  • Review stakeholder requirements and execute actions to meet them
  • Ensure robust measurements aligned with product standards and existing know-how
  • Support innovation and efficiency improvement initiatives
  • Follow standard procedures, templates, and defined processes
  • Contribute to design, integration, and validation of product components or blocks
  • Support platform design simulations and validation activities
  • Perform design calculations including worst-case and statistical analysis, and support thermal studies
  • Assist in platform testing and validation processes
  • Report progress of assigned tasks and maintain regular updates
  • Identify and escalate risks when required

Requirements

  • Eligibility & Education:
  • Engineering graduate (relevant to mechanical or related domains) Technical & Functional Skills:
  • Understanding of design, integration, and validation processes
  • Knowledge of engineering calculations, simulations, and testing methods
  • Familiarity with thermal studies, statistical analysis, and worst-case design considerations
  • Ability to follow platform processes, design rules, and standard procedures Other Skills:
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and meet requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and reporting abilities
  • Proactive approach in identifying and escalating risks
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and multicultural environment
